We don’t have to do all the things, but we all have to do some thing.

The Prairie Village Tree Board and Prairie Village Arborist Bridget Tolle welcomed a large group last Saturday morning for the dedication of a new tree at Porter Park honoring the Prairie Elementary Green Team.
Bridget, along with Prairie Village Public Works, planted the first Shagbark Hickory in a Prairie Village Park. This native tree species was researched and selected by the Tree Board, and the specific location in Porter Park was selected to allow for its future large height and deep roots. Learn more about the Shagbark Hickory HERE.
The Prairie Elementary Green Team was nominated for this years tree dedication from several sources, and the Tree Board said theirs was the best written nomination they’ve seen in years. Learn more about the Green Team HERE.

(I’ll post a picture of the Green Team when one is approved by the City since they are students.)
Go check out the new tree at Porter Park when you get a chance!
Have a great week!
