Coffee & Conversations with the NEJC Chamber

Posted by Bonnie Limbird

Prairie Village isn’t large enough to have our own Chamber of Commerce as Overland Park or other big JoCo cities do. So, we’re members of the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, and with that comes many opportunities to engage with our fellow members and our local Prairie Village business owners in particular.

I was thrilled to attend the recent Coffee & Conversation at the newly renovated Big Biscuit in the Meadowbrook Shopping Center at 95th & Nall. Did you know the Big Biscuit is headquartered right there at 95th & Nall in a building across the parking lot from their restaurant? I did not! I also learned that they have a room in the back big enough for fairly large parties, so keep them in mind for your next gathering.

At the event, we got to meet many of the local restaurant and corporate staff where they provided the coffee and their special “Bonuts” – Essentially biscuit donuts rolled in powdered sugar and served with fresh strawberry slices – it was decadent!

I also personally chatted with a young chiropractor who has opened up his holistic practice in OP, Dr. Christopher On, Mr. Ralph Munyan who practices business law out of a Prairie Village office building, Linda Adams, owner of Cherry-Pickers Marketing and PV resident with her husband, Reese Naftel (PV Arts Council member), Amy Milroy, Director of B.E. Smith Family Center – Britain Development at Advent Health and PV resident, Fire Marshal for CFD2, Todd Kerkhoff, and Grace Holmes, KC Ballet School Director and PV resident, just to name a few!

It was a great little event, so if you’re a member or thinking about becoming a member, I hope to see you at the next one, and if you’re just looking for a chiropractor, dance class (all ages), or marketing expert, see above.

Have a great week!
